Question:

I have an OLD clawfoot bath tub that need complete re-fininishing. I can't seem to find any one to do the job.

It more then likely needs to be sandblasted before re-finished.has pits, chip and some minor rust. Fort worth, Azle, TX area

It's a lot of work, but you can do it yourself.  It's a two part process:  a chemical to strip and clean the porcelain and then the finish.  I bought the stuff at a little local hardware store, but a big chain store may have it too.  It's been about 10 years so I can't remember the name of the stuff.   4. Go to your local large plumbing store. We build houses and had a scratched tub. They provided names of people that they had used for repair and for refinishing and gave us honest opinions on who to use and not to use.

I am a plumber and we have a guy here that comes right to the home and sets up  basically what looks like a little autobody shop in the bathroom , fans venting fumes out the window  , all sorts of products to refinish the old tub , after about 3 hours the tub looks like brand new, i know the etch the old one and than refinish it , maybe the link below could help  you in your area, i am in nj
