I got this audio rewritable cd (specifically for music). On my older computer I use to have a program that would pop up automatically that would ask what i would want to do with my cd.

Well for some reason i cant find no such program and I have windows XP and i was wondering if anyone knows what program that originally comes with xp does remove files from a Music Cd Rewritable.

I already went through help on "my computer" but the instructions for erasing files off of a cd rewritable is for one that is strictly for file saving or data.

I also just went to the drive that the cd was in and checked for any options or indications

Unless are there any programs i can download that does the job.

Thanks for your time

  1. Free easy Burner is straightforward and simple.

  2. Whether it's an audio CD or a data CD, the instructions are the same for erasing it.  Go to My Computer, click on the icon for the CD (if it takes you to a media player, right-click on the icon and click "explore" instead), and then on the left-hand panel, there should be an icon that says "Erase CD-RW" or "Erase this rewritable disc" or something like that.

Also, make sure that it is actually rewritable and not just recordable.  On the CD, it will either say "CD-R" or "CD-RW".  R=recordable, RW=rewritable.  Also, make sure that you didn't x-out the left-hand panel or anything.  If so, I don't remember how to get it back, but try searching through the menu near the top of the window.

  3. I found http://www.pchelpdoc.com

This site has been helpfull for stuff like this.

There is alot of free help on there.

    Goodluck!
