What is the average lifespan of one? My fiance has had one for about two and a half years and it died today! I think if you're going to pay that much for something, shouldn't it last longer?

  1. The lifespan depends on when you bought it (because improvements have been made after Sept '07 and again. later this year)

And the other factor is how well you take care of it.

It's said that older 360's have a 35% failure rate and newer (improved) ones have a 11-15% chance to fail on you.

Even thought they can fail Microsoft has a free 3-year manufacture warranty for hardware failure…so just send in you husbands Xbox to them and they will fix it for free, and send it back. It will take a week or two, but it is free.

Call 1800-4-myxbox…give them your info and such…

  2. They usually last about 5years depending the environment you live in. You shouldn't really have to look after them its just if you live in a humid and wet area moisture could have got inside and destroyed it. I do agree with you if you're going to pay that much for something it should last a lifetime.

  3. if you mean the market.... 5-8 years.... as for how long it lasts as the hardware... it depends on how good you take care of it
