  1. When you walk into the audition space, state your name, your audition number, and the peice you'll be performing. Then go into your monologue.

  2. Well what you could do is think of a situation where you have been mad or you would be mad. Then think on from there and think about what you would say and the emoctions on your face. Everyone says smile in an audition but they are wrong, because you dont want to smile if your mad!? only smile when you walk on then drop while you act, then once you have finished smile again.

    Things to say:

    If you were mad at your mum for not letting you go out with your friends you could say:

    MUM IF I WERE YOU RIGHT NOW I WOULD LET YOU GO , BUT NOOO YOU HAVE TO BE ALL 'PERFECT MUM' AND MAKE ME THE PERFECT LITTLE ANGEL BECAUSE YOU DONT WANT ME TO BE NORMAL! I HATE YOU!

    really show emoction on your face and good luck....Tell me how it goes i would love to no!

  3. Its important to act a strong character. Its also important that you know the role well, and that you can familiarise yourself with him/her.

    To help build up your character, try to write a character development sheet, with information about the various aspects of your character.

    Hope it helps!

  4. Firstly, if you have an audition it is usual that you will be asked to read a part from that first, so read the script or better still get in touch with the people running the audition and ask. In a well organised and somewhat professinal production you will then be asked to prepare any other monologue of your choice. You should choose something quite different fro the part you will be asked to read for as this gives you a chance to show your range of performance ability.

    Secondly, never go in with a piece that you have devised as it will lack a context to give the casting director something to go on. There are plenty of books out there that have just monologues for  auditions, get one of these or check on line.

    Thirdly, having chosen your two audition pieces you need to be clear about how you see those characters, and how those characters will deliver their lines.

    Fourthly, directors are not necessarily looking for a strong character, but someone who;

    1. can show a variety of ability

    2. can do subtle as well as crazy

    3. can follow instructions

    Hope this helps and good luck

  5. If it doesn't have to be original then there a thousands of monologues out there. Just pick one you like and rehearse it.
