I have an adjustable hat. That adjustable thingy looks really bad.?

Is there something that I can do to make it a one size fits all hat that has no adjustable thingy that looks terrible?

  1. I agree, they look awful. If you have access to a sewing machine, replace it with a piece of elastic covered with a little sleeve of fabric. the fabric can be scrunchy.

  2. Cut out the plastic thing and sew in an elastic band bought at a Hobby store.  Never did it, but it should work.

  3. Is the adjustable thing made of material, elastic or plastic? If it is made of material or elastic and it doesn't come apart in two pieces, cut it in half and sew velcro to it. If it is plastic, you can glue velcro to it or cut it off where it meets the hat and sew in velcro. Either way, it will fix the problem.

  4. Take of the adjustable plastic piece and add some velcro instead.  You can probably glue it on or get the kind of velcro that has the self sticking stuff on it.  I've seen it at the dollar store.
