  1. I personally don't agree with cutting on an animal to make it more aesthetically pleasing to us, but it's personal preference. I think dogs are beautiful animals just the way they're born.

  2. you can if its a puppy and it would look good either way

  3. natural tail looks better.

If tails are going to be docked, it has to be done when the puppy is 3-5 days old.  After that it would require surgury to amputate the tail.

I dont know many vets who will put a dog thru surgury just for the sake of vanity.  Surgury itself is risky, and it puts the dog thru the risk of pain and infection afterwards.

  4. Tail docking is generally done at ONE DAY OLD - it is very painful and you will be hard pressed to find a vet that will do it at any age above 1 week, unless the dog has had an accident of some sort and requires it removed. Tail docking, ear cropping, and the declawing of cats are now becoming a way of the past as it is unnecessary and cruel, and only for cosmetic purposes

If your dog has come with a tail you should enjoy it the way it is. I work at a veterinary hospital and we never perform tail docking or ear cropping at ANY age.
