  1. Are you any good at hanging wallpaper. Your degree means absolutely nothin, as in Anthropology there are no correct answers, especially Charles Darwin's monkey and  evolution theories as they are so plumb foll of holes. Anthropologists should all begin again, and this time begin with what you         know to be true. In fact you can take a tip from the bible.

  2. move to CO and i'll pay ya ape sh*t/hr to tell me how good a job i do at mind numbing tasks that an untrained monkey could do

  3. Heck I have a Masters Degree in immigration in Toronto... half my city is born outside of Canada... and I still can't get work....

I feel your pain... I would hire you if I could... we could start a research think tank and find out why people like us don't get jobs and what the impact would be on the environment due to migration..

  4. Have you thought about working for the government or for a non-profit?  Recently I heard a radio report that told of how the U.S. Army was employing social scientists, including anthropologists, to help "win the hearts and minds" of the Iraqi people. Most people I've known in the field of anthroplogy have told me that the best thing to do with a Bachelor's degree is to become a research assistant and get an advanced degree, which opens up doors in the field.

  5. jb that is a hilarious response... hahaha

check it. i am an anthro major, got a minor in bio. i work at a finance company. pretty much unless you got research experience anthro gives you people skills, so go get a job w/ people! gov't jobs are good, the boarder patrol pays good!

i looked into non-profits and activist oriented jobs but they don't pay enough for my college loans. check w/ a temp agency also, but make sure it is a good one where they are only looking for college grads! thats how i got my job and its decent.. i am waiting on trying to figure out if i wanna go back to school tho. w/ anthro you pretty much need an advanced degree to do anything worthwhile!!

  6. Besides going back to school, you're quite limited in the field of anthropology (I know because I had the same problem in the same location)  Try getting your foot in the door of a company and working your way up in a field that's related to your major/minor.  There's even a job out there for people to go into corporations and teach those people about the culture that they are doing business with, so that way when they visit and communicate with the foreigners, they know the culture.  Try talking to your university's alumni department or career department, it's all about networking.  It's not what you know, it's who you know.

  7. Just out of curiosity, why would you ask people for a job with a sentence filled with poor spelling and grammar? You don't get a chance to make a first impression, don't mess it up with something so trivial if you can help it.
