you can unlock it easily via imei code....but you'll need to use it with another gsm carrier.

No.  It will not work.  AT&T's phones and network are GSM.  Boost Mobile's phones that use sim cards are iDEN(the ones without are CDMA).  While both GSM and iDEN use sim cards, they are still two different technologies and are not compatible with each other.
