I really hope to get a good part in this show. I have a huge range, so it shouldn't be that much of an issue. thanks a million to anyone who can answer!

  1. I would sing "When you wish upon a Star," everyone knows that song and it shows a wide rang of your voice.

         -Good luck!

  2. "Any Dream Will Do" or "Close Every Door to me" from Joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat.

  3. Are you a guy, or a girl?

And since it's a Webber production, I'd suggest something from Les Miz or Phantom-things everyone would know.

And honey, you should've been practicing long before now. Good luck on your audition, though.

  4. There is only one female lead in JCS, and that's Mary Magdalene; there are girls in the chorus, and a female soloist in "Peter's Denial", but that's it, unfortunately.  Stick with an Andrew Lloyd Webber song - maybe something from Evita, just not "Don't Cry For Me Argentina".  I'd suggest "You Must Love Me" which was actually written for the movie version of the show but is now often included in the show anyway - it's quite similar in feel to "I Don't Know How To Love Him" which of course is Mary Magdalene's big song.  Or else look at "Rainbow High" or Eva's verse of "I'd Be Surprisingly Good For You".  Stay away from "Another Suitcase In Another Hall."  If you don't want to sing anything from Evita, look at one of the Narrator's songs from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, but stay away from Phantom and Cats.

  5. What about somethingfrom Godspell? It's the same story, and same era. If you want to auditon for Mary Magdelene,"Day by Day" or "By My Side" would be great options since they have that folky quality her songs have.

  6. How about "If Ever I Would Leave You" from Camelot or Cole Porter's "Night And Day"?

  7. It may sound odd, but Make Your Own Kind of Music by Mama Cass Elliot is very similar in range and style to I Don't Know How to Love Him, and unless they read this post, I GUARANTEE nobody else will sing it.

Plus, it's a great song and you'll get bonus points for originality.
