I have an automatic ice maker in my freezer and the cubes have started to taste wierd...like cucumbers... why?

does the ice maker part of the freezer have to be cleaned or something? weve had it for over 2 years now and its the first time were having this problem. like it even changes the taste of the water, and when i finish my water i like to eat the ice cubes and its really unpleasant right now.
