  1. o yes and remember to use salt water droplets so ur ears get so screwed that u can only hear the ocean waves that well be cool.

  2. Get some alcohol (rubbing) or hydrogen peroxide and put it on a cotton swab, and swab good. You could wait a day or so.

If the surfs really good, s***w your ear and grab your board.

If you Stand Up Paddle, it doesn't matter. I've seen kooks in santa cruz SUPing with a hoodie and close tied shoes.

  3. John F has the best answer and the best advice. Get yourself to a doctor and get your ear infection cleared up first. The ocean's not going anywhere, and there will be plenty of time for you to have your surf orgasms, and still be able to enjoy ear-gasms too!!

  4. Hi, I don't surf but I do scuba dive......when I have an ear infection I use Hydrogen Peroxide.  You should dilute with water...............I have used it full strenght.........it bubbles like mad in your ear............but it works....... just do it once and wait a couple of days then if its not better have another go. If it still doesn't get better see a doctor.

To prevent ear infection I use a mixture of viniger and water..........just flush your ears out with this solution after you've been in the ocean......... works for me.   :)   Happy surfing........... we have good surf here in the Philippines, east coast Luzon.

  5. I don't think you should surf until it has cleared up.

If you get water in your ear it could make it a lot worse.

  6. NO!  Don't mess around with any of these suggestions! Go see a doc. You could end up with a problem that leaves you deaf &/or unable to go back into the water. I destroyed my eardrum in 1973, and It has never been successfully repaired. Both Navy & civilian docs tried. I can't dive anymore, and even snorkleing can create problems. I sometimes surf with a wax ear plug, but that usually gets blown out after one good wipe out. I endure lots of pain & hearing loss. Learn from this.

For all of my life, I have been in the ocean, swimming, surfing, sailing, diving and snorkeling. I have known since about 1975 that I can never dive again. Bad ears can keep you away from the ocean forever. I have been surfing for 42 years. You can afford to take two weeks off to get your ear healed up.

  7. Yeah. You should definitely see a doctor.

He's gonna prescribe you some medicine and then tell you the most dreaded message a surfer can hear: stay out of the water for like 2 weeks.

So. I took the medicine like he said. And was able to stay out of the water for 1 day. I woke up the next morning and went to check the surf and guess what, yeah, it was good, real real good. So I took the medicine, and went for it. And you know what, the ear infection still went away.

So, if you really need to surf really really bad, don't. But if you just go, dry out your ear really really really well when your done.

I'm not saying you should go out, but I did and I'm fine, so if you want to take the risk, its your choice.

  8. yes u shood
