I have an emachine cpu and it only beeps when I turn it on. ?

I unplugged the monitor and it says that it can not get a signal so I know its not the monitor. I don't know what else to try. I have unpluged and replugged everything numeous times and still can't get it to work. Any suggestions?

  1. the beeps you are hearing is the post test results. one beep means its good, any more than one beep and it something is wrong.

    best way to find the problem is to count the number of beeps and, if you have access to another computer, look up what that number of beeps indicates.


  2. if it is not the screen or the mother board the you have to make sure that you have keyboard mouse connected most of the pc's wont work if they dont find this pluged. some times also the wont start of the battery that is on the motherboard is missing or is empty. usually there is a beap sound that says that everything is "ok" but if you have a kind of long one the something is missing or it just wrong.


  3. eMachines tend to have crappy motherboards.  I'd suggest going to their web site and looking up your motherboard's manual.  It will tell you what the error beeps mean.

    The beep has nothing to do with your monitor.  Odds are your CPU, RAM, or motherboard is dead.
