I have an engine problem

i hava 90 geo storm and wasw running fine until i took a long drive to santa monica...

i came back and the engine was smoking a little from the spark plugs

and its starting to make a noise like when something metal is caught

in the sink and its getting worse...

i dont know what its is i have really cheap spark plugs that are from the junk yard

was wondering if thats it

  1. HI

    It doesn't sound good. if the plugs were the same as what you pulled out or for the same car its most likely not the problem. best check your water level and the oil level. if the oil is low you may have bad motor damage. which well mean replacement.

  2. Th tip of one or more of the plugs may have broken off and fallen into the cylinder, hence the rattling noise, if smoke is coming out of the spark plug hole then the plug is either broken or it needs tightening

  3. the spark plug broke and a piece/s of it ar rattling around inside a piston.

  4. why don't you pull the plugs out and have a look?

    i've never heard of using used spark plugs before-  there are reasons why car manufacturers recommend replacing them regularly!

    if a plug is broken crank the engine with the plugs out so it can blow out any debris.

  5. if its smoking from the plugs then the gaskets are leaking around the rubber in your valve cover.  The plugs have problem drowned in oil.
