I have an error message on my Kodak EasyShare camera?

My Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS camera is giving me an error message saying "Error L02". It was fine until I plugged it into the computer to download pictures. I plugged it in and the computer didn't even recognize the camera (this is not the first time I have plugged it into the computer, but it is the first time the computer hasn't recognized it), so I pulled it out and it gave me the error message. Now every time I turn it on, the LCD screen is blue and says "Error L02". What does that mean and how can I fix it?

  1. It might help to remove the batteries for at least one minute and give the camera a chance to reset or restore to the original settings. Each camera is different so it could take longer for your camera.  If the one minute does not work, try leaving the batteries out for about five minutes.

You could also clean the batteries as described in the link below. This doesn't seem to be your problem now, but it does cause lots of  problems with digital cameras because lots of power is required and the battery connections must be really good.

  2. Try the Kodak Easyshare website.

I had an error on mine a few months ago, and I remember there is a place on the website that explains what each error means and what you have to do about it.

It will also tell you if you have to mail it back to them to be repaired (like I did).

Kodak is great, they will help you out a lot.
