  1. why didnt you renew it 5 years ago?

  2. nope, you need to get a new one.

  3. Renewing an expired green card is easy, if the person lives in the U.S. It's not possible if you do not live in the U.S. If you have been outside the U.S. for over a year, the government takes the position that you have abandoned your lawful permanent resident status.

If you have immediate relatives living in the U.S. who are either U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents, one of them might be able to petition for you.

  4. simple question, simple answer   N O . u have to start the process all over again.

  5. If you have lived outside of US more than 2 years without filing Advance Parole or traveling back and forth, USCIS assumes that you abandoned your Permanent Residency and moved away from US.
