I have an hp a1487c

Question

i have an hp a1487c with windows xp media center edition, the orginal hd crashed. bought a new WD 320 gig hd; used recovery disks to reformat the hd. the systems still crashes and has a helluva time booting up.are there any known problems with this system? could it be the power supply and how would test it? it seems to power up fine when running but it keeps crashing. i have reformated the disk twice just to be sure.Thanks,Sky
