WE HAVE A GREAT JAM ON THE ROADS. WHAT IF WE GIVE THIS IDEA A TRY. MOVE PEOPLE FROM THE AFFECTED AREA TO SEVERAL OTHER CITIES WHERE THE RESOURCES OF HELPING EVACUEED WONT DRY UP LIKE THEY DO NOW. C141 WILL DROP THEM TO AS MANY CITIES AS ONE SEES FIT. SAY THE HURRICANE IS NORTH CAROLINA AND 4 PLANE LOADS HAVE BEEN LIFTED TO ATLANTA, GA. SOME TO MACON, GA. AGAIN, GETTING BACK WILL BE EACH PERONS OWN RESPONSIBILY.

WE SAVED THEM GRAVE CONSEQUENCIES. IF THEY GO ONLY THE NEARBY TOWNS, THEIR HOTELS GET FILLED UP. RED CROSS HELP GETS TESTED TO A MAXIMUM. BY DILUTING THE EVACUESS, WE MAZIMIZE OUR SOCITIES CAPABILTY.

PLEASE COMMENT ON THIS THOUGHT.

GREAT WORTH A TRY TRASH IT

  1. While there is some merit to your idea, I do have some concerns.  First is cost.  Flying folks is expensive.  Flying folks with their belongings is even more expensive.  Then there's the issue of priority.  Who gets to go first and who risks being left behind with the last flights?  Where do all these people go to catch a flight?  There will need to be parking facilities for everyone to leave their vehicles and who will watch over those vehicles to be sure they aren't vandalized?

Would you want to be in the air when a hurricane was approaching, even if it was several hundred miles away?  I'm pretty sure I'd rather ride it out on the ground than chance being caught in the air when a freak storm hit.

I was in Houston for Katrina and Rita and I can tell you, there is no way you could've flown 4+ million people out of the area in time to avoid the storm.  Trains would make more sense, since thousands could be loaded on each train and dropped in towns to seek shelter.

Human nature is too individualistic to accept falling into line and allowing someone else to determine their fate.  DOn't stop thinking about ths, though.  FEMA and the Red Cross can use all the help they can get.  Who knows what the next best way to evacuate folks is?  It could be you!
