  2. Everyone has ideas for games.  They're a dime a dozen.

    You need to make the actual board game yourself (pay to get the board printed, get some generic pieces, etc.) and try to sell it yourself in local shops (hobby stores, game stores, etc.)  Only when you've got a lot of sales will the large companies take you seriously and be interested in buying your idea.

    Unless you know someone at one of the companies, of course.
