I've come up with a really great (at least I think so) idea for a charity...but now what? How do I get my idea off the ground? Do I need to call someone or something like that, or just start doing it?

  1. Hello,

Yesterday I stumbled upon this Yahoo discussion board, and I genuinely believe it is remarkable that there are people such as yourself who are willing to do something to make a community and the world a better place!

There are several methods to getting your idea off the ground, which are to many to list. What I did with my own organization was to consider the audience that I serve, they are individuals and families within Sacramento, CA., whom are in crisis or at risk of becoming in crisis. So, ask yourself Who will you serve and How will you serve them?

In my case, what was needed are Updated resources to link too the people I serve. The best way I found for me to provide that service was through technology, otherwise know as a website which Microsoft has provided to me free for life.

I now have the 4th highest ranking Sacramento community resource directory on the web, and it is less than a year old. On the other hand, I still make flyers and business cards and visit or call other organizations within my community.

No one really gave me a road map to successful promotion, I just listened to my own heart and followed it to fulfill my vision of what I wanted to do in serving others. You seem to be smart enough to know what you are doing and do not need my advice. If I may say so just do what you feel is best for your organization, it is your dream.

Take care and if you have any question then, please contact through this post or my organizations website Contact Us page.
