I have an idea for a new product,how do i get it started without getting ripped off?

i have an idea and i have been talking to a company called new product help who says that they can help me get a patent, get it made, and get it into stores, but of course they want money to get it started and i would love to see my idea become a reality but i dont want to be taken advantage of, what should i do

contact the patent office yourself, so you hold the patent, then offer it to a big company that makes similar products

Firstly, do a patent PENDING. Its a lot less expensive and you can upgrade it to a full patent if things start moving in the direction where you can make money with it.
