I have an internal brick wall that has been emulsioned. What is the best way to get a smooth surface?

Recommendations:- Plasterboard or plaster or something like Polycell Smoothover?

  1. dry line it ..but first pva it ..then dot and dab it whilst it is still tacky ..you can then either tape the joints and paint if you get the correct plaserboards ...or skim it


  2. Placter it, I think Polycell is just for smoothing over patches you wouldnt do a whole wall.

  3. Plaster skim coat - use a bonding agent first.

    If you are NG at plastering - dryline with plasterboard with filled and taped joints but I think the finished result is inferior to a proper skim. I think the smoothover will probably be quite an expensive option.

  4. if it is bare brick, you will need to apply a thin skim of plaster...<^><...
