  1. The DVLA have a telephone number for use by customers who are having difficulty making an application for a driving licence on the internet and require appropriate support.

    The number is 0870 850 2963

or you can email them on: drivers.dvla@gtnet.gov.uk

Give them a ring or send them an email - the DVLA are the people who issue all UK driving licences and who know all about the various rules and regulations and they are therefore much better qualified to help you PROPERLY than anyone on Yahoo Answers ;)

  2. Phone the helpline number which should be on the online application. They will then be able to help you with your application. The online system is designed for british citizens who meet all the criteria when filling it out. The telephone is the best way or if you live near a dvla office then pop in & ask.

  3. Your international licence is based on a permanent licence from somewhere.  It means nothing by itself.

If you no longer have an active licence, you can't drive, period.  If you have moved back to the UK, you have to go the DVLA in person, now.
