Well, My dad just got me a new computer 2 days ago, we moved it into my room, which is just like a few feet across from my dad's computer room, and we used a long, internet cord for my computer, it works on my computer.

But My dad is having problems putting the internet on his computer! He did a complete reformat, He turned off the modem and let it wait, he put in his IP address and etc. But the computer doesn't want to let him connect to the internet!

When we go into the internet/networking options thing, it says it's connected, but the SENT and everything is not moving, all the numbers are stuck are zero.

The yellow light at the back of my PC, the Ethernet cord, is blinking, and the cable box we're using is blicking all the lights it should be blicking, so why can't the internet work my dad's PC?

  1. Go to LAN settings in your computer then go to properties select internet protocol version 4 (TCP/Ipv4) click properties then enter the same subnet mask, default gateway, prefered and alternate DNS address numbers in your father's computer.

check your browser settings also .....tools -  internet options - connections - LAN settings and select automatically detect settings

hope it will work and if your had selected "automatically detect settings" you need to find out these details from your ISP

  2. dun understand what you are talking about but i roughly get it:

    try this:

turn off router. turn off modem

plug out and plug everything back in

    turn on everything
