I have an internet problem on my PS3/router/wire ( i don't know)?

this is my case. everytime my PS3 want to use the internet - signing in PSN,internet, etc... - the modem just turn off by itself and turn back on after 2 secs. i though it was the wire but i try the wire on my PC and it works perfectly. I though it was the router but look i can use it on my PC so i suspect there's something wrong with my PS3. But when i connect my PS3 directly to my internet provider modem, i can sign in on PSN.

i dont know what is really the problem.

My PS3 model is 40GB and R2 or japanese version.

my router is is a linksys wireless G model

and im using wired connection.

i try wireless and it didnt work.

That's intriguing!

I suspect it may be something to do with the fact that it's a Japanese spec. PS3, but am not absolutely sure.

1. If you are connected to the internet on the PC and you THEN turn on the PS3, does it disconnect your PC (turn off your modem)?

2. If you are connected on the PS3 can you then get on the internet on the PC?

3. You probably need to check the network settings on the PS3 and make sure you have everything right there.

4. Ask around at one of the PS3 forums.  Someone might have had this problem before.
