I have an interview for a PRN position, would they only hire me if I can available all the time on call?

Im interviewing to be a CNA at a hospital prn. But I am going to school so my availability is limited, I can work all day fri sat or sun and wesnesday but not tues, thurs. What do you think? And what should I do to make me the best candidate?

  1. What are you going to school for? If it is in the health care industry, you can say that you are actually attending college to better your career.

    Let the interviewer know that you are really interested in the position, but are only able to work certain days because of your school schedule. The one good thing is that you are available to work weekends. Most places they have a problem with weekends because people are always calling-in.


  2. If your going to school to be a Nurse I would mention it, and have it written on your resume. It's a big plus with hospitals. Usually PRN CNA positions require some weekend work, and let you choose the rest. Just ask the interviewer those questions, and be honest about things. In fact, I write my questions down on paper and take notes. That has impressed several interviewers in the past. Be prepared to answer typical questions like - How much experience have you had? What are you strengths, and weaknesses? I found a link with typical questions that I put in the source section.
