the usb cable is plugged to the computer and my ipod can charge but there's no connection sound that would let me know it's connected. I already have itunes but it won't pop up when i plug the usb cable in. it doesn't want to do anything but charge, so what can i do to transfer songs and sync it??? do i have to get a new computer? a new ipod??? or what?

  1. use your music player to sync with or see which com port your pluged into.go -start -right click my computer-open properties-push hardware tab-push device manager button-go down the list to ports click on the + this tells you which port your usb is connected to

  2. leave it plugged in and reboot your computer and see if it will find it then( the i pod is turned on right). if it still does not find in go to my computers and see if it is the list under devices with removeable storage if not, not sure what else to say
