  1. Be sure of what you want! Do you want to copy songs from ipod to comp or comp to ipod? Anyways I will tell you both. You cant copy songs from the pod to pc. To copy songs from pc to comp -> Open itunes -> Add Files to Library -> Sort them into playlists(if you want) -> Go to your ipods icon -> Click on sync. Thats all! Hope it helps

  2. itune blocks this function since itune is the tool with one way to transfer files from itune to ipod. you must utilize other tools to achieve that. There're couple of tools for transferring the files between ipod and computer (for backup)depends on your demands, e.g transfer only songs/videos, transfer photos etc. You can have a look of below review site, hope it useful.

  3. you will need to have a 3rd party tool to help you copy songs in your ipod to computer as itunes blocks the ipod-to-computer transfer, here is a review of top 5 ipod  copying softwares(windows/mac): http://www.ipodtocomputer.net

  4. If you want to take songs from your ipod onto your computer then download idump (google it) Then plug your ipod in. It'll pick all the songs up from it.

    Copy them all to itunes.
