I have an iron ladder that is partially under water. Is there any paint I can use that will stay on?

  1. its going to take marine paint for best protection


  2. If there is rust, you need to first prep the surface with muriatic acid, chipping away any loose flakes. Then paint with either two part tar epoxy, which is quite expensive but will last for many years, or paint with lead based marine paint, which is not readily available because it's not environmentaly sound and won't last as long but is probably cheaper.

  3. Steel boat bottom paint, remember to properly prepare the surface before applying
