Okay, so I am always irregular (and no I won't take birth control to regulate it, bc for one: I don't think it should be taken unless you have s*x which I don't and for two: I don't want to have to worry about taking a pill everyday) but this month I started a full two weeks late, I didn't start until september! Well anyways I started yesterday, and I'm bleeding normal but I have the worst cramps! Like my stomach down to my ankles are cramping and my ankles are even retaining water (bloated) I'm just miserable. I woke up out of a dead sleep because of how bad it hurts and was up for 4 hours heating pad and all! And it's already getting bad and I just woke up! Anybody know why this is happening? And what are some things I can do to ease the pain?

(I'm sixteen and have had my period for five yrs)

PLEASE PLEASE tell me something that works, I'm about to friggen scream.

Thank you and God bless .

  1. I had the same problem but my doctor but me on birth control to help which is what you dont wont to do. Try using heating pads, taking a hot shower or bath, try midol. you should go and see your doctor about this they can give you some med to help thats not bc my friend did this but i cant remember the name. go to your doctor if your cramps are that bad something else could be going on. good luck and go to the doctor

  2. You may have a cyst. I started to have BAD pain 3 months ago on the first day of my period. I haven't had those cramps since istarted. Found out it was a ruptured cyst. 2 years ago i had a dermoid tumor cyst and they removed my whole ovary :( so i only have one left and scared i may not have any more children *only have one child

  3. Why would you be so opposed to birth control? Taking a pill every day is not going to affect your life in any big way.  And you think you shouldn't take the pill unless you are having s*x? What? Do you know how many doctors prescribe the pill for the exact problem you are describing? My periods were irregular as h**l when I was your age and my cramps were debilitating and awful, leaving me vomiting and in a haze for two to four days out of the month EVERY MONTH.  Your reasons for not wanting to take the pill are ridiculous.  It is a very simple solution for a really common problem.  If you aren't willing to at least explore it I don't really feel sorry for you.  You are making things difficult for yourself for no reason.  See your doctor.  Cramps this bad should be discussed with them at the very least, even if you are totally unwilling to go on the pill.
