I have and lcd projector and its nice and everything but I was wondering how I could see local channels on it supposing I don't have cable or anything else how could I see the local chanels on it?

  1. you cant without a satellite box and sucscrining to locals on it or cable. you dont want junk locals through an antenna on it though, it will mess the unit up, only send a clear solid pictrue throught the projector.


  2. You need an external tuner of some type to receive and decode the signal. If you don't have cable or satellite you could use an Off the Air tuner and an antenna. Most will tune in both HDTV and digital SDTV. See the link for a roundup of several models.

    Look for one with outputs at a resolution your projector will accept. And an audio output so you can connect to a sound system since most projectors have no or very poor speakers built in.

  3. With out knowing what model projector you have I cant be 100% sure, but I'm almost positive that there isn't a projector with a built in tuner out there so with out a cable box, sat receiver, or vcr to act as a tuner you cant. If you hook up a vcr to a off air antenna you will possibly get some local channels but that wont work after Feb of 2009 when you will need some type of digital tuner.
