  1. When they say that it's occassional use, it has nothing to do with how long it will last. It's about effectiveness and convenience.  If you use a pump once every other month so you can go to the movies, the pump doesn't need to be as easy to use. In this case, you'll probably be fine using a manual pump. If you pump while you are at work 5 days a week, you need a pump that is easy to use and will work well enough to keep your milk supply up. I guarantee that you wouldn't want to use a manual pump in that circumstance.

  2. Well if its called an "Occassional Use" pump, then I would assume that its not made for everday use and I would just get a regular pump instead.

  3. its made for the occasional use, as in maybe once or twice a week, not everyday.  There are special pumps for everyday or frequent this is because some women pump everyday like @ work or because the baby wont latch and they need to maintain milk. These occasional pumps can damage breast tissue and dont have the proper suction strength and settings or a double sucker thing. If you want one for everyday then you need an upgrade. if you only need it for a couple times a week then you are fine with the one you have.
