I got offer from Fluor Vancouver for 84K, how is the company doing and is this salary good one to live and save with family of 3.

  1. Never heard of that  firm. did you contackt them??  If not  dont reply    84k  Is allmost to good to be true.. Call the BBB  .  It may be a scam


  2. Fluor Daniel has several lucrative contracts with infrastructure contractors in BC right now, as well as with the provincial government. There are several multi million (and a couple multi billion) dollar projects on the go or proposed, so I would negotiate a bit before accepting. 84K for an engineering job is low by current BC standards - the average single family detached house price in Vancouver is about 650,000, and the general cost of living is comparable to Seattle and LA. Getting a house and saving some money usually requires either both partners working, or a job in the 200K+ range.

  3. Fluor Daniel is a giant international engineering contractor.  84k  is mediocre.  Vancouver is expensive, a small family home starts at $500 k.
