Is it normal for the furnace to run for short periods during these summer days when no heat is being called for?

  1. Hello Jane:

The furnace should not run unless the thermostat is telling it to run. Is your heating set point below the morning cold temperature? Check your thermostat, and adjust the summer heating temperature down a few degrees.
