  1. Valuable in what way?  Yew foliage has been used in cancer treatments and yew wood is beautiful.  Nothing is quite as valuable, though as a beautiful, living tree.  The lungs of our polluted environment.

  2. Not sure about modern day value but they usually grow in churchyards and in the middle ages were a valuable source of wood to make long bows.

  3. Taxus Baccata (Yew)

    The leaves, seed and fruit are poisonous..  I've also read somewhere that you shouldn't burn yew as it exudes cyanide vapours.

    It was valuable in it's day because of the many uses it had....but today we have other materials we can use to make things.

  4. Well yes. You can make magic wands from Yew trees. ( ;

  5. All old trees are valuable - they are a living link to our past!

    What else could you mean?
