Question:

I have an old brass lighter that I get tired of polishing, how can I keep it shiny through daily handling?

I can polish it fine with some brasso, of course, but since it comes into constant contact with my hands it tends to get tarnished. Is there any way to keep it looking nice without polishing it so often? I've heard some floor polishes etc work nicely, can anyone speak from experience?

  1. After you have polished it to it's best finish....apply a couple of coats of lacquer or acrylic to it. Make sure you clean it good with lacquer thinner prior to coating it....that will make sure no oils or polish is still on the metal.

  2. either pinch your sisters, or buy a small bottle of nail polish, let it air dry
