My house was built in early 1900's and on renovating, we found some things we can't explain. Like a perfect square cut in the floor, leading to the basement, just some other stuff. I'd like to find out about the original owners, and also pics of the house when built.

  1. That is so much fun to know the history of your home.  You can run a title search on it back to the beginning.  It will cost you some money.  I have papers on our land in Texas (every deed) going back to 1854.  What a treasure.  Wow!!  The Alamo Battle was 1836.  It is so much fun to read!!

  2. go to city hall records divison they have records on every home in your town

  3. The county tax appraisers office is a good place to start..You can find out the original ower that way..then go from there searching thier names in the cunty birth/death records..and the local library..most libraries now days if you go get a library card ..you can then come home and access all the info online once a free account is set up..user name /password etc..
