I have an old phone

I have an old phone its is a motorola f3 i think it does not say this on the phone but i found a picture of it on the internet and i am sure this is it! on the battery it says motorola BC60 if that helps! However the problem i have always had is that when i recieve a picture and it somes through asking if i want to download when i say "yes" it comes back 30 secnds later saying unable to download please try later... however 1 and half yrs later iam still here! is there a simple way to set up my phone to allow me to see my incoming messages that are pictures from friends or family! ??? thank you, any advice would be grateful!
