  1. Hi Steve,

I hook my old 8mm camera up with DVD Xpress. If your camcorder has a composite output it will work fine.

With DVD Xpress you can transfer your video to your hard drive and then edit it if you desire. DVD Xpress comes with basic video editing software. I got mine at Sam's for $59.95. They are cheaper now. You can look at one & read about it here - http://www.usb-ware.com/ads-dvd-xpress.h...

I saw a newer model at WalMart recently. It was the DVD Xpress2. I think it was $39.95 but I am not positive.

You connect the composite output of your camcorder into the DVD Xpress and connect the DVD Xpress to your computer via a USB cable.

As far as recording from one camera to the other I can't help you.

  2. yeah, i think you need to get an analog to digital converter.

i have the smae problem :(

  3. You may could try using RCA cables and hooking them up to the output of the video 8 and to the input of the digital cam..then press play on the video 8 and record on the digital......
