The oval table is adorable; but needs painting. The sides drop down to create an oblong shape and there are small drawers on both ends. There is also electric blue trim all the way around that I like and would like to keep there.

  1. Sand it until it is smooth. Primer it and then paint it. Spray it with light coats until you have a good coverage to avoid runs.

  2. I agree it's best to remove the old paint first.  I've had good luck using Rustoleum metal paint outdoors.  It's a spray I get at the home improvement store.  It's lasts well for me, too.

  3. You can using paint remover then you can repaint with spray with color you want and for metal top you can finish with anodice

  4. I suggest you take the table to an auto paint shop and have them paint it for you. They will do a far better job, paint will be much more scratch resistant, they will use heat to harden the paint, get a nice gloss finish. Put your paint brush away, don't use it. It must be spray painted and have a thick coat and heat dried.

  5. if you can remove the wood, think about having it sand blasted.this process removes all paint and rust and instantly preps to recieve new paint.the cost shouldnt be outrageous, but its not free. be prepaired to paint within a few hours as rust and moisture will attack raw metal very quickly.use painters tape to define sharp, crisp lines between colors.a good brand of spray paint will put a nice finish on your new table top...your new looking table top.as a steel fabricator i have seen many over-coats crack, peel, and chip.a new finish always out lasts a cover up.
