I have been applying for jobs but get turned down after they see I have an open case. Seems like Employers treat an open case like a conviction. The applications say list convictions only. Do have I to wait until its dismiised to get a job?? Advice please....

  1. Wow...I doubt you'll get any "real" answers here. I'd check with your state labor laws and see if anything addresses that. I'd have to say, if more than one place is doing it, it must be legal. Even though it's BS

  2. Why would you ever disclose such personal information on a job APPLICATION....you are looking at them as much as they are looking at you!

It IS an open case and that's why they turn you down! Why would they hire someone and invest in them not knowing if you are going to be around.

You aren't thinking straight and don't go to an employment opportunity with your tail between your legs. You need to have the confidence so they can see it in you during the interview, let them know you are the BEST interview they are ever going to have!

    WHERE ARE YOU APPLYING??

  3. If the case is currently open and you have not been convicted, you DO NOT need to list that case or bring it up during an interview.  Are your potential employers finding out about it because you are telling them?  or are they investigating public records at the court?

That type of jobs are you applying for?

    What are the charges for?
