  1. Underwriting and funding times vary by lender, however, it will always come down to the willingness of the student/parent to provide the necessary documentation.

In most cases, a motivated applicant should see the loan fund in approximately 7-10 business days from the date of approval.

You can try http://www.collegeloancampus.com/apply.p... to apply for a College Loan Campus private student loan.  The application process only takes a few minutes and the check is sent directly to you instead of your school.

    Hope this helps. Good luck!

  2. There are many lenders which offer private educational loans.  I'd first check with your aid office to see if they have any suggestions.  If not, you can look for 'private student loan lenders' under any search engine.  Then, start checking them out to see what kind of deal (interest rate, fees) you can get.  However, I would suggest applying for the federal student loans first.  There interest is fixed (whereas private loans usually are variable) and there are no up-front fees.  If you apply on line at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov you should be able to find out your eligibility in a few weeks.

  3. How do you acquire an "unexpected" tuition bill of any amount?  Did you accidentally sign up for college?  I know I did.
