They seem to have made my little garden thier home. I think they go pretty deep into the soil. What can I use or do to get rid of them? They already ate up my first batch of corn. My next batch is due to sprout out in a couple weeks, so I really could use some good advice. Thanks.

  1. Get ant stakes. They are bait poison type stuff that doesn't harm your garden at all. Just don't eat it! lol

  2. Spread cucumber peelings on the soil - ants DO NOT like cucumbers!

Or, spray with a mixture of ground up garlic and water.

Plant spearmint and/or peppermint near the corn.

    Spray them with lemon juice.

I'm a big advocate of Neem Oil.  It repels many insects due to its' scent but is not harmful to plants, pets, humans or beneficial insects.

Just be sure to buy 100% PURE Neem Oil to ensure that no chemicals have been added and follow the directions on the label.

Hope this helps and enjoy the corn!

  3. ant poison would work but its not exactly organic. daily sprays of soap have workked for me especially if i spary it right on the mound. i have also hear that garlic water helps to... well hope this helsp
