  1. You might consider looking at a local community college and reading what the description is for the same type of chemistry you are taking in the fall. If possible, I would try and obtain a copy of the book used for the class and talk with someone who has taken this class previously. If you can get the ISBN number of the textbook, you can probably buy it very reasonably on line as a used book. Good luck.

  2. Well first do the summer assignment if you have one. I think I had to read and understand the math for the first 3 chapters of the zumdahl textbook.

Buy a princeton review guide and go over it.  Spend time on stoichiometry, equilibrium, and descriptive chemsitry.  Also, got over things you didn't see in regular chem.

look over the practice ap tests in the review guide and on www.collegeboard.com to get familiar with the foramt of the ap tests.

Most importantly, don't burn yourself out with chemistry over the summer.  Otherwise you'll get bored halfway through the year and won't pay attention in class (this happened to one of my friends.)  Basically, learn a bit but don't learn everything.
