I have applied for ALG, how long does it take for the form to arrive? (UK)?

I initially applied for a part time course but when i went to enroll last week i was told i can only do it full-time.

So then i decided to apply for ALG, but when i phoned they said they would send me a form. This was on Monday. How long will it take to come through?

And how long does it take for the application to be processed?

And, do they back-date payments? I start on Monday!

Please help me!

According to the website:

When to apply

It’s best to apply for ALG well before your course starts so you don’t miss out on any payments - but you can still make a claim later on in the term. In some cases, payments can be backdated.

I don't know about ALG but it took them weeks to process my son's EMA, so give it a month I suppose.

usually a month tops and you get back-dated four weeks into the same bank account you applied with :)
