I have around 7,000 to invest as i had to sell my shares off what is the best way to invest it?

please note i do not want to invest it in the stock market again. I wish to invest the money for around a year

Ok  an ISA    for some  and a fixed term guaranteed interest bond for the rest    Current conditions  favour more to income  rather than capital growth

I agree with ICICI but you have to leave your cash for a set period.

The post office is paying 6% but you can withdraw at anytime

I'd say be smart and invest the money wisely.

Split it:

60% put on high yielding savings account or ISA

20% share isa or normal shares

20% you could use for a shorter term investing like spread betting.

It's actually up to you how you split the money but make sure you don't use just one option as it's always a good idea to have some on your savings account.

Make sure you find a cheap broker though. I got capital spreads. They quite good and cheap. Try http://www.independentinvestor.co.uk they compare lots of investment accouts.

That's assuming you have used up your ISA allowance. If you haven't then Barclays ISA at 6.25% is the best.

Autographs - , I am serious. The beatles signed authograph in 97 went for around £1,250 they are now worth in the region of £25K etc.

If you anticpate a legend in the future for instance you can pick up an amy winehouse autograph for around £125.00 who knows what that will be worth in years to come.  Look at Kurt Cobain? ( without wishing anything on her). It will go through the roof. I am in the process of investing this way myself.
