depends.. if both devices has hdmi input that would be the case.. you need to look at back of your device to verify. if you ever need a hdmi cable, inspiretech sell a decent one for 5 bucks

Not Sure what AT&T has to do with your receiver and plasma...your question doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Please clarify.

I think you mean that you can hook up standard or s-video out from your cable box to your receiver, and the receiver will output an HDMI signal to your plasma screen. If this is the case, which my receiver also does, I wouldn't highly recommend it, because you are converting an analog to a digital signal outside of the television's tuner. It may even try upscaling it to 1080i or 1080p- whichever you can accept, and this usually degrades the analog signal from your cable box. Many reviews of the newer receivers suggest not to use this method, as they lost some of the information. I would suggest using a digital optical cable output (which most cable boxes have) running to your receiver for sound. Then, I would take the component or S-Video or whatever the highest quality video output from the cable box; running it straight to your television for no signal loss! That's the best way of doing things with current technology. Good luck!

If the box has an HDMI port, I would say try it, the box should come with component cables

The worst that would happen is the HDMI port may not be programmed, and the image may flicker or may be non-existant, and your sound may mess up as well, if this happens, just switch to the component cables and try it again, if you have no problems, then just stick with HDMI
