I have avg 8 and it wont stop scanning?

i bought AVG 8 i let the scan run over night but in the morning its still scanning and stuck on scanning the boot sectors cand anyone help with the situation thanks greatly...

where it is near the time shut it down by right click and press exit if not then press ctrl alt del and click on the processes tab and then shut down the AVG process

Uncheck Scan Boot Sector and see if AVG scans correctly. If not, remove it, download it again, and reinstall it. BTW, you can't install AVG if you have any other security software running on your computer at the time of the installation.

get rid of AVG.  uninstall it and download avast, it's a lot better.
