  2. this sounds serious .

the easiest thing to do is a system sweep restore.

go to start > all programs > accessories > system tools >

system restore. restore to a point in time when the virus was not there it should get restore your missing files. Then download windows defender run it threw a full sweep and if finds any remains of the virus it will delete it.

    Good luck.

    Sorry about your computer

  3. I downloaded the free version of Malwarebytes and that got rid of it for me.

  4. Do a system restore to a date before you got infected and then run Malwarebytes free antimalware.  The last time I nuked that bug I had to download it to a thumb drive from my (uninfected) computer and then load it onto the infected machine because it kept blocking the download on the infected machine.

  5. You can remove it by installing and running Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. It is a free program and will remove it for you . If you try clicking uninstall antivirus xp 2008 in add and remove programs it will not do anything to help you. Be sure to run a 'Full Scan'.

You can find it at http://www.malwarebytes.org

  6. USUALLY Spybot Search and Destroy can take care of AV2008  http://www.safer-networking.org

You can also try malware bytes anti-malware from http://www.malwarebytes.org and SAS Free edition from http://superantispyware.com

There are a lot of variants of this trojan, but one of these three should be able to clean it.

They will ALL detect and TRY to clean it... don't assume you're actually clean until you reboot your machine and scan it again and come up clean.

Afterwards, get yourself a GOOD antivirus product like NOD32 from http://www.eset.com

  7. Get one of these anti-virus listed below. All these anti-virus work very well, they are the leaders in the current market.

  8. Well you can probably stop it from running temporarily by using safe mode so you can edit your registry and stuff. But you probably should download both

    and
