I have been bit by something on my leg...?

I have this hugee bite on my leg.. its bright red and hurts when I touch it. I think its just a insect bite but about the size of a penny! Im going on holiday in a few weeks and now im going to look horrible in my bikini!! Any advice on how I can clear it up very quickly??

  1. tea tree antiseptic cream works a treat.

    be sure its not infected or it will need antibiotics


  2. When you get bitten by an insect the body rushes a substance called histamine to the affected area and that is what causes the redness and swelling. The best treatment for an insect bite is an anti-histamine cream such as Anthisan which you can get from any chemist and some supermarkets. This will help to counter your body's reaction. It reduces the redness and itching. If you continue to use it for a few days it should get rid of the mark. Watch out for infection though.

    If you are holidaying in an area known for insects take the Anthisan too, you never know when it will come in handy.
