  1. When I got my nose pierced for the second time I was told by the piercer that you should NEVER EVER get pierced with a gun in any place on your body... Unfortunately I had done so previously with my other nose piercing, so go for a needle. It only takes a fraction of a second more and in my opinion the gun hurts more! Lol, just go for it, once it's over you'll forget the whole thing. I'd say it hurts a little and my eyes watered a tiny bit but the pain only lasts around 2 seconds. Good luck!

  2. thats true, gun is affective and it doesnt hurt. however, with a gun, the stud is significantly larger then if u would get it done with a needle. Ive had it done with a needle also [before the gun, my hole closed] anyways, for no pain, quick and easy - guns your best bet. Just make sure you change the stud after warss to a proper nose stud, ive also had really good experience with a product called "Bactine", heals up quickly. hope this helps.

  3. It looks painful, to me.

    I can't really tell..this may tell you something. :)

  4. i don't have mine done, but i would assume a tongue is more painful to have done, my gf said it hurts, but not bad at all, and my tongue barely hurt

  5. it doesnt hurt at all. i got mine done with a gun and it was like someone pinched me for 2sec and thats all and i've had mine now for almost 7yrs now.

  6. i got mine last month, and it was virtually painless.

alright im telling you how it will hurt. first take your pointer finger and your thumb and lightly place them on the inside and the outside of your nostril, lightly "pinching" it...thats how the clamps ("forceps") felt.

now, move your fingers so that your nails come in contact with your nostril. apply light pressure for about a millisecond, and that is the pain of the needle going in. press a little bit harder and thats how the jewelry feels when its going in.

my eyes watered a teensy bit, but only the side i got it done on (my left nostril got pierced, so my left eye watered).

i didnt feel any pain whatsoever in the hours immediately after the piercing process. in the case of both earlobe piercings and helix (ear cartilage) piercing, my ear got bright red and felt very hot; my nose just felt normal.

and, the day after the piercing was done, it basically felt healed - like my earlobes had felt after about a month or two....and the day old nose piercing felt even better than the seven month old cartilage piercing.

EDIT: i agree, Bactine was very useful in the healing of my nose. it felt ready to change out at two and a half weeks - but then i got a sunburn on my face and my skin got all strange and peel-y, so i couldnt change it then.

and this girl had a similar reaction to mine. able to talk during the process, few to no tears, etc. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_dhZ-_wd...

  7. I have tons of piercings...monroe (upper lip) navel twice, tragus, carlidge, lobes a lot...and of course, the nose. The nose didn't hurt bad, it was just awkward. They stick a hollow tube up your nose to catch the needle so it doesnt poke around inside your nose. And your eyes will water. Other than two two little things, it's a piece of cake. They're really cute to! If you want it, go for it. Pain isn't a big deal. And the aftercare is really simple and they heal very well if taken care of.

And ask for a s***w over a stud. My friend had a stud, and hers fell out while she was asleep and her hole closed. A s***w is curved so it has to be twisted a little bit to come out. :)
